Mon Vie is Jersey French ‘Man Vyi’, which is the equivalent to the French ‘Mon Vieux’ (My old friend). However, the literal translation from Jèrriais is simply ‘my old’. Nevertheless, the meaning behind the phrase is the same; A term of endearment spoken to friends and loved ones, alike.
