This bowl is made from a really nice piece of bi-coloured Padauk this grows naturally in two colours, the core is the orange colour and the outer timber is lighter. This is almost Tri-coloured with a bit of grey to the side.
The back of the bowl also has a beautiful dark vein to the back. Looks like a slight bit of spalting to the timber.
This bowl measures 240mm in diameter with a height of 47mm.
Maker: Purpleheart Woodturning
Dominic tells us “My woodturning journey began in May 2019 when I attended a craft fair in the UK and I was fortunate enough to make a simple wooden pen on one of the stalls and from that moment I was hooked. As soon as I got back to Jersey I immediately ordered my first lathe, tools, chucks and a large volume of wooden blanks. I began to look into the concept of using materials other than wood for my products and I now make a variety of giftware including wooden bowls, wooden pens, resin pens with encased stamps, bottle stoppers, keyrings, Christmas decorations etc.”
