Les Minquiers Mackerel Tea Towel

1 Sold2 in stock

£15.00

This tea towel is made of a lovely heavy cotton, and features a design from an original painting of a group of Mackerel. Mackerel arrive in Jersey every summer, and I love their distinctive shimmering colours of green and turquoise on their upper body. The name Les Minquiers refers to the southernmost reef off the coast of Jersey, an island with some granite summer houses, and claims to have the southernmost toilet in the British Isles!

Composition: 95% cotton and 5% Linen

Dimensions: 68cm x 49cm, Wash at 30-40 degrees, low tumble dry

Maker: Katherine Cadin

Katherine Cadin’s paintings reflect her love of the sea, and the Jersey coast. Her passion for vibrant colour and pattern is influenced by her Greek heritage and love of Aboriginal art. Each piece is hand painted with brushes and sticks, and is very detailed and textured, creating a beautiful, vibrant, and unique piece, which aims to bring the subjects to life.
